IND vs PM XI LIVE UPDATES: India unfazed by rain!

India is sparing no effort in their preparations for the upcoming pink-ball Test in Adelaide. The batters did bat in theslight rain yesterday to get adapted to the conditions as soon as possible. Stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah warned against complacency after the historic win in the series opener in Perth, emphasizing that India would start afresh for the second Test. The team appears fully focused on adopting this mindset as they prepare for the challenge ahead.

Two teams are set to play 50-over per side game on Day 2

Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of 2nd Test for Australia

The Day 1 of India’s warm up fixture against the Prime Minister’s XI has been called off due to rain on Saturday, November 30 at Manuka Oval, Canberra. There was no play possible on the opening day as the inclement weather didn’t relent leaving both teams frustrated. Notably, the warm-up fixture is going to be India’s only practice ahead of the day/night Test against Australia beginning on December 6 in Adelaide.

Meanwhile, Australia have suffered a major set back as their pace Josh Hazlewood on Saturday has been ruled out of the second Test against India — a day-night match — starting here on December 6 with a “low grade left side” injury. Australia are trailing 0-1 in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy after a 295-run shellacking in the first Test at Perth.

Hazlewood has a fine record in Pink Ball Tests, as the 33-year-old has taken 5 for eight in five overs in the day-night Test against India here in the 2020-21 series when the visitors were bundled out for 36.

Abbott and Doggett have been coming on the back of good efforts in the Sheffield Shield matches recently. Doggett had picked up a five-wicket haul against Western Australia, and now has 11 wickets in three Shield matches. The pacer had also bagged his career-best figures of 6 for 15 in the A game against India A in McKay recently.
